Almond Sugar Cookies
Light sugar cookies with a complex almond flavor.
Ingredients
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup vegetable shortening
- 3/4 cups granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons almond extract
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Directions
Step 1

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. |
Step 2

Combine the flour, baking powder and salt. |
Step 3

Add in the egg and break it up a bit with the spoon. Add in the shortening and the sugar. Mix well. |
Step 4

Add the almond extract and the vanilla extract. Mix well. |
Step 5

Take a spoonful of the dough and roll into a ball. Flatten and place on an un-greased cookie sheet. |
Step 6

Bake for 8 minutes or until the edges are golden brown. |
Step 7
|
Let the cookies cool before transferring them to a serving dish. Enjoy! |
